“Jurist Per Excellence,” KolaDaisi Varsity VC Pays Tributes To Bola Ajibola

 

 

The Vice Chancellor of the KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun SAN, has paid tributes to a former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Hague, Netherlands, Bola Ajibola, who died on Saturday at the age of 89 years.

The Vice Chancellor described the late renowned elder statesman as a jurist per excellent, an extra ordinary public officer, and a global personality of high esteem.

Prof. Olatunbosun said Prince Ajibola has left an indelible mark in the sand of time for the excellent services he rendered nations as a Judge of the World Court at The Hague, where he earned global reputation as an impartial adjudicator.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the late Prince Ajibola navigated all spheres of the legal profession as a legal practitioner, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a chartered Arbitrator, a life bencher, Attorney General, Judge of the World Court, and a great educationist.

The Vice Chancellor stated further that despite his global personality, Prince Ajibola was revered by his people, was close to the grassroots and undertook remarkable roles in the development of his homeland; Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Prof. Olatunbosun commiserated with the family of Prince Ajibola, praying for God-given fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and prayed eternal rest for the soul of the late jurist.

He equally commiserated with the management and staff of the Crescent University, Abeokuta, on the loss of a eminent patriarch.

The Vice Chancellor empathized with the government and people of Ogun State and the Nigerian Bar Association over the demise of the sage.

The late foremost legal practitioner was the first sitting President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to be appointed Attorney-General and Minister of Justice. He served as the Chief Law Officer of the federation under the military neither depleted his professionalism nor turned him into the enemy of his colleagues.
